Meet Katie, MSW, RSW

I have been in the field of Social Work since 2013. Client-centered practice is the foundation from which I work. I will not claim to be an expert in your life. I am here to create a journey of appreciation, understanding, and connection. Most of my work has been on the front lines, working with people who are vulnerable for a variety of reasons including isolation, depression, stress, and coping. Compassion, empathy, trust, and equality are core values I developed throughout my work and I believe they create the building blocks of a successful therapeutic relationship.

In my personal time I keep busy with my family. Being outdoors and physically active is essential for my mental health and I incorporate it into my daily life.

Areas of Practice

Strengthening your resilience is at the core of my work. Your environment and connections affect greatly your ability to cope, your wellbeing, mental health, and joy. Whether it 's breaking the never ending loop of negative thoughts, naming emotions and practicing mindfulness, or just needing someone to talk to when life is feeling like too much, strengthening your resolve is always beneficial. The theoretical approaches I like to include are:

Strengths-based

Person-centered

Narrative therapy

Person in their environment (PIE)

Solution-focused therapy

I draw from a variety of techniques and through collaboration we can create sessions unique to your needs, wants and goals.
